Atwater

In the old floodplain of the Los Angeles River, where the soils are still silty and deep despite the many roads and fencelines that obscure this fundamental relationship, a sigh of relief could be heard when this lawn was yanked to make room for lovely natives. The best part was planting an endangered Engelmann Oak which was once the keystone species of the East LA / San Gabriel savannas.
